Ingredients
- 1 cup non-dairy milk, (almond, soy, hemp, rice, etc)
- 1 Tbsp maple syrup, or unrefined sugar*
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp arrowroot powder, or tapioca starch
- 2 Tbsp water, cold
- 1/2 cup brandy, or spiced rum, optional
Instructions
- Put the milk, syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a pot on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Mix together the arrowroot or tapioca with some cold water, and stir to dissolve.
- Add the starch mixture to the pot, and stir continuously until it thickens slightly.
- Mix in the brandy or rum if you like, and serve warm or chill and then whip to make it frothy.
Notes
*If you use a non-dairy milk that is sweetened and/or vanilla flavored you won’t need to add the extra sugar or vanilla
