Ingredients

cup
non-dairy milk
,
(almond, soy, hemp, rice, etc)

Tbsp
maple syrup

or unrefined sugar*

tsp
vanilla extract

tsp
cinnamon

tsp
nutmeg

arrowroot powder
,
or tapioca starch

water

cold

brandy
,
or spiced rum, optional
Instructions
Put the milk, syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg in a pot on medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Mix together the arrowroot or tapioca with some cold water, and stir to dissolve.
Add the starch mixture to the pot, and stir continuously until it thickens slightly.
Mix in the brandy or rum if you like, and serve warm or chill and then whip to make it frothy.
Notes
*If you use a non-dairy milk that is sweetened and/or vanilla flavored you won’t need to add the extra sugar or vanilla
