Ingredients

  • 4 slices fresh ginger
  • 1 wedge lemon
  • pinch cinnamon, optional
  • 1 tsp maple syrup, or coconut sugar (optional)

Instructions

  • Boil some water, and pour into a mug. Add the ginger, squeeze in the juice from the lemon, sprinkle in the cinnamon, and stir in the maple syrup (if using).
  • You could also grate the ginger, and just squeeze the juice into the mug for more ginger infusion.

Notes

Ginger is a well-known digestive aid, helping curb nausea and trapped gas. It also has very potent anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols, which may reduce pain and improve mobility for those with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.
