Classic Pizza Dough
Servings: 2 medium pizzas
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole grain flour, plus more for kneading
- 1 Tbsp yeast
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp unrefined sugar
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Prehead the oven to 400F.
- Combine the flour, yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add the oil, then the water.
- Bring the dough together and add water or flour as necessary to make a soft dough.
- Knead for 5 minutes, leave to rise for 30 minutes. Then press or roll out into pizza crust shapes.
- Lay the crusts on a baking sheet, and put them (plain) in the oven for 10 minutes, or until they start to get a light color. If you like, you can sprinkle some coarsely ground millet or corn flour on the baking sheet before you lay the crusts down.
- Then put your sauce and toppings on the crust, and bake again as a pizza.
