My meal plans are not specifically designed for kids. I don’t have kids, so I don’t guarantee that my meals will be appealing to little ones’ tastebuds. That said, I hear from a lot of moms that their kids do really enjoy some of my meals! Tastes among kids vary so widely though, and you know your kids best, so I would suggest going with your instincts.
The good news is that the sooner you start kids eating healthy whole plant foods, the more likely they’ll be to enjoy them ๐
One main point I want to make is that the portion calculator will allow for ages down to 4 years old, and will adjust the sizes of the meals accordingly. However – it doesn’t scale down many of the veggies and some of the fruits. This is because if you go the other direction, someone with a higher calorie burn – like a bodybuilder – would wind up eating 6 platefuls of spinach, which is a bit excessive…
So my suggestion here is to scale down the amount of produce in the meals, recipes and grocery list if you’re shopping for kids. Have them eat what they want, and don’t force them to eat the full meals listed in the plan because it’s based on a meal plan I designed to meet adult nutrient needs.
Although this isn’t perfect, I thought it would be more useful for moms to give you a rough idea of how much to make, and leave the specific servings and recipes you choose to give your kids to your judgement. If you have any questions or want more advice just send me an email or post in the forum ๐
