Healthy Weight Loss

Healthy Weight Loss
Heather Nicholds

Are you overweight or do you know someone who is? Being overweight can be one of the toughest things to deal with. Some days you just feel so alone, tired and/or unattractive. It’s ironic how alone it can make you feel, when in fact two thirds of Americans are overweight. So if you are, too, you’re definitely not alone.

The good news is – it’s not that difficult to get back to a healthy weight and it’s the best feeling ever! It can bring relief from joint pain, lessen the stress on your body in general, reduce your risk for certain illnesses, and improve your self esteem. Now, when I say it’s not difficult, I don’t mean it’s not work. It takes a bit of work and it a lot of dedication. But the process itself is not complicated – it’s easy.

The trouble is, a healthy weight is not usually what is portrayed in movies, on TV or in advertisements. Many of these actors and models are underweight, a situation that actually has its own health risks. Don’t aim for an unrealistic weight, just a healthy weight for you.

It’s also important to love yourself – regardless of what you look like or how much you weight. Try to respect and value yourself before worrying about your weight, because unless you do you’ll never be happy with yourself no matter what the number on the scale says.

Positive Outlook on Weight Loss

So many diet plans focus your energy on avoiding, losing, reducing. That’s not a healthy way to live, and it’s certainly not very fun.

Instead, why not turn your energy around and focus on creating health for yourself? It’ll take some time to shift your thinking, but it’s a much healthier outlook on diet and weight loss. You create health by adding healthy, whole plant foods to your diet and gradually reducing unhealthy foods.

If you’re ready to get started in a healthy direction on weight loss, but don’t know where to start or are confused about certain aspects of healthy eating, this section is for you! The first rule of healthy eating is that you need to do what’s right for you. I’ll give you lots of ideas in this book, but listen to your body as you start to get healthier. And be sure to have fun along the way – otherwise, what’s the point, right? Enjoy your food, and enjoy your life as you learn to take the path of health and positivity.

Have Fun!

Being positive and focusing on eating lots of good foods is a much easier way to eat a healthy diet than cutting things out and feeling restricted all the time.

Put your energy into the positive side of a healthy diet, and focus on achieving your long-term health and lifestyle goals.

Figure out what your healthy weight is, and don’t aim for being underweight despite media images. Make goals for what you want out of life beyond just losing some pounds.

Drink lots of water, eat lots of fresh vegetables – especially greens – and fruit, and shift to whole foods to replace refined and processed foods.

You’d be amazed at all of the different aspects of your life that can improve if you start nourishing and respecting your body.

You deserve to have optimal health, and the food you eat has a huge effect on your abundance – or lack – of health. What you’ve chosen to do in starting a healthy eating plan is really important, and is well worth the energy you’ll put into it.
