Chocolate Protein Bar

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1/4 cup walnuts, or cashews
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup protein powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 orange, zested, optional
  • 2 Tbsp flaxseed, ground

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together the flax with 2 Tbsp of water and stir to combine.
  • Then put everything in a food processor and puree. It will be a very thick mixture, so you may have to scrape down the sides to make sure it all mixes in.
  • Press the mixture into a square tin, lined with parchment paper, to about a 1/2 inch thickness. I usually just press it onto my silicon baking mat, and shape the edges with my hands. Or you could make balls or free-form squares. Chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes, then slice into bars or squares.
  • Keep in an air-tight container.
